About the Art Program
I believe that every child has an innate ability to express themselves through art, sometimes even more so than adults. This natural ability, coupled with an emphasis on the fundamental principles of art and design from a young age, make this classroom the place to make some fantastic and fun art. Even if your child isn't interested in becoming the next Pablo Picasso or Leonardo DaVinci, art can be a great tool to learn about other cultures and cross-disciplinary subjects. From drawing inspiration from the art of centuries long ago and countries far away to understanding and using geometric angles and shapes to create modernist compositions, art not only enhances our understanding of other subjects but incorporating what is learned in other classes also broadens our capabilities in the art classroom. From sculpture to painting to print making, each grade level will have a chance to work with a variety of media for a well rounded and exciting art experience. I am looking forward to another great year of creating together!! |
